Getting a Pakistani passport is about to become much more convenient. The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has officially partnered with TCS to introduce “Passport Aapki Dehleez Par”, a nationwide home delivery service that allows applicants to receive their passports safely at their chosen address instead of returning to a passport office for collection. The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to modernize public services and improve the overall experience for citizens.
A Simpler Way to Receive Your Passport
The new service was formally launched during a meeting at DGIP headquarters, where officials from both DGIP and TCS outlined their shared vision for making passport collection easier, faster, and more secure.
Under the new system, applicants who complete the passport application process will have the option to receive their passport directly at their home or another preferred address. The service is designed to reduce unnecessary trips to passport offices while offering greater convenience for families, senior citizens, and working professionals.
TCS to Handle Secure Nationwide Delivery
As Pakistan’s official logistics partner for the initiative, TCS will be responsible for transporting passports across the country using its nationwide delivery network.
TCS Chief Executive Officer Hassan Raza Leghari said the company is committed to ensuring every passport reaches its rightful owner safely and on time. Since passports are highly sensitive government documents, special delivery procedures have been put in place to maintain security throughout the transportation process.
Government Focuses on Digital Public Services
DGIP Director General Muhammad Ali Randhawa said the launch reflects the department’s commitment to making passport services more accessible and efficient.
According to officials, delivering passports directly to applicants’ homes will reduce crowding at passport offices, shorten the collection process, and provide citizens with a smoother and more convenient experience. The initiative also supports Pakistan’s ongoing digital governance strategy aimed at improving public service delivery through technology and modern logistics.
More Digital Improvements on the Way
The home delivery service is part of a wider modernization programme being introduced by DGIP.
Earlier, the department had announced plans to expand digital services by introducing a chatbot to assist passport applicants with information and guidance throughout the application process. The government has also introduced several recent reforms, including faster passport processing, expanded Fast Track services, online fee payments, and continued improvements in passport issuance across Pakistan.
Why This Matters for Citizens
For many Pakistanis, collecting a passport has traditionally required multiple visits to passport offices. The new “Passport Aapki Dehleez Par” service aims to simplify that experience by allowing applicants to receive one of their most important travel documents without making an additional trip.
The initiative is expected to improve convenience, strengthen document security, and make passport services more efficient for citizens nationwide as Pakistan continues expanding digital government services.
