Karachi Introduces Pakistan’s First Floodlit Motorsports Track for Night Racing

Karachi has taken a major step forward in the world of motorsports with the launch of Pakistan’s first professionally floodlit racing track on the Super Highway. The newly developed facility allows car racing events to continue after sunset, giving racing enthusiasts a completely new experience.

The modern autocross track has been equipped with more than 300 LED lights, 100 lighting towers, and several high-mast floodlights spread across the two-kilometre circuit. With these installations, drivers can now participate in competitions comfortably during the night, especially in Karachi’s hot weather conditions.

Alongside the main racing area, organizers have also introduced a dedicated 400-metre drag racing strip where two vehicles can race side by side. High-performance cars on this track are capable of reaching speeds above 250 kilometres per hour. A digital timing system has also been installed to ensure accurate race results.

In the first phase, the venue will host multiple motorsport categories including autocross, drifting, side-by-side drag racing, buggy ATV events, and remote-control off-road competitions. Motorsport fans believe this project could significantly increase public interest in racing culture across Pakistan.

Special attention has also been given to safety and visitor facilities. Emergency medical services, ambulances, and fire brigade support will remain available during events through a dedicated service road surrounding the track.

The venue is also being prepared to welcome up to 100,000 spectators in the future, with plans for food courts, accommodation areas, parking spaces, and vehicle service zones for participants arriving from different cities of Pakistan.

The project has already created excitement among young drivers and racing fans in Karachi, with a large car march recently organized at the venue to celebrate the opening of the new motorsports facility.
